Singapore’s Keppel Group broke ground on November 8 for the Saigon Sports City, a 64-hectare integrated smart township in HCM City’s District 2.
The ceremony was attended among others by city People’s Committee chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong, Singaporean ambassador Catherine Wong, Keppel Corporation chairman and CEO Dr Lee Boon Yang and Loh Chin Hua.
When finished, Saigon Sport City will have 4,300 premium homes and a sports, entertainment and lifestyle hub.
The first phase of the project will comprise residential spaces as well as sports facilities.
Speaking at the ceremony, Loh said: “Keppel has been participating in and contributing to Viet Nam’s growth for close to three decades, especially in HCM City, where we have a quality portfolio of residential and commercial developments.”
“Keppel Land and Keppel Urban Solutions are collaborating for the master plan and development of Saigon Sports City, which will be developed into a vibrant, integrated township and an iconic landmark in HCM City.”
At the event, Tan Swee Yiow, CEO of Keppel Land, donated VND100 billion (US$4.3 million) on behalf of Keppel to support infrastructure development in District 2.
