HÀ NỘI — Hà Nội FC and Becamex Bình Dương have been awarded VNĐ200 million (US$8,600) each by the Việt Nam Football Federation (VFF) after they qualified for the knock-out stage of the AFC Cup.
Hà Nội topped Group F after beating Singapore's Tampines Rovers 2-0 in the last group match on Wednesday. Meanwhile Bình Dương secured a 1-0 win over Ceres Negros of the Philippines in Group G to be the second-placed team with the highest points total.
It is the third time that Việt Nam has had two representatives in the second phrase of the continental tournament. Two previous times were in 2010 and 2014.
The VFF said the bonus was to encourage both teams to continue playing well in the coming matches.
Hà Nội will play Ceres Negros while Bình Dương will meet PSM Makassar of Indonesia, with the fixture dates to be confirmed later. — VNS
