Real estate developer FLC Group on Sunday began construction on the FLC Quang Ngai tourism-resort complex in the central province of Quang Ngai.
Covering an area of 1,026ha, the complex will have four areas with high-end hotels and resorts and two areas with coastal urban zones, with total investment in the first phase reaching about VND11 trillion (US$43 million).
FLC Quang Ngai will also have an international-standard golf course and amusement park.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, vice chairwoman and general director of FLC Huong Tran Kieu Dung said the complex is part of a chain of high-end resorts that the firm is developing across the country.
Quang Ngai welcomed more than one million visitors in 2018, up 23 per cent over 2017, she noted, saying the province still has huge potential to develop its tourism sector.
As of 2018, the province had nearly 300 accommodation facilities but no high-end hotels, she said.
Dung said FLC would work with provincial authorities and people to preserve cultural values and natural landscapes. — VNS
